Crystal
Reports
are powerful,
and they
provide
you with
a wealth
of information
at your
fingertips.
But wouldn’t
it be
wonderful
if you
could
schedule
these
reports
to run
by themselves!!!
Report
Scheduler
for Crystal
Reports
allows
you to
do just
this.
A Windows
application
that runs
under
the .Net
Framework,
it provides
you with
a means
to generate
commands
for batch
printing
and mailing
of Crystal
Reports.
Instead
of sitting
down twice
a week
to manually
print
or email
your reports,
you could
set it
up to
print
out and
send those
reports,
when you
want,
and in
whatever
format
you want
–
directly
to a printer,
or emailed
in either
MS Word,
Excel,
HTML or
PDF formats.
This will
ensure
that you
never
miss sending
out that
important
update,
and also
leaves
you free
to work
on those
other
critical
tasks.

Report
Scheduler for Crystal
Reports can also
be used to update your
websites. The website
can be updated at any
interval you desire. This
reduces the need to have
live connections from
the website to the database
and also reduces the load
on the server when the
audience of the data becomes
hundreds and thousands
of hits.
This application makes
use of the MS Windows
Scheduler to make sure
that everything gets done
on time. And it is all
so easy. All it takes
is three simple steps,
and your schedule is set.

| |
Report
Settings – Define
the name, output and format of
your report. You can also choose
to select any script or application
you would like to run either before,
during or after the report runs,
thus giving you more control over
what you get. |
| |
Database
– Choose the Report Database,
and define its parameters. In
this way, you can have the same
report setup to print at any time,
with whatever parameters you want.
It’s all in your hands! |
|
Schedules
– Finally, simply decide
when you want your report to print.
Once? Every week? Once a month?
You decide! |
And
that’s it. Three simple
steps and you can forget about
ever missing a report deadline
again!
Once you set your schedules, the
application tells the MS Windows
Scheduler about your timetable
for printing these reports. The
MS Windows Scheduler is then responsible
for waking up the Report Engine
whenever it is time for the next
report to go out. In this way,
you don’t have an extra
Service running in the background
on your machine all the time.
The Report Engine only launches
to print the report, and then
it quits, thus saving your processor
resources. You can choose whether
to have a visual indication of
when the Report Engine is running,
or to have it run completely in
the background. The choice is
yours!
Report
Scheduler for Crystal Reports
allows you to mail your reports
in all supported formats. Moreover,
it is not dependent on any other
mail system. It has its own SMTP
component for sending out emails.
Mail compatibility issues are
now a thing of the past! |
